Dr. Clarke received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Zoology at Washington State University (1973,1974) and a D.D.S. degree from the University of Washington School of Dentistry in 1978. Following a career with the United States Air Force, which included a 2-year residency in general dentistry, he retired with the rank of Colonel in 2001. He immediately began private practice with Dr. James Hughes and they enjoyed a twelve-year partnership until Dr. Hughes retired in 2013. Dr. Clarke has been enjoying an associateship with Dr. Peter Elton D.M.D. in the same office, now Cedarbrook Dental, since 2013.
Dr. Clarke is a member of the American Dental Association, the Washington State Dental Association, and Pierce County Dental Society. He was awarded Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry in 1998.
In addition to dentistry, Dr. Clarke enjoys skiing, mountain bike riding, kayaking, boating, and travel. Dr. Clarke has been married to his wife Gay for 37 years and has called Gig Harbor home for 17 years. They have 2 grown children, Shannon and Kevin, both graduates of Gig Harbor High School and WSU. They have a lively golden retriever named Chase.
